Appliance Repair Littleton, CO

Clean Dishes Are Cool to Touch After Removing: For dishes to be clean and germ-free, you need hot, soapy water for washing. The FDA recommends using water around 110 degrees Fahrenheit, which is uncomfortable for handwashing but perfect for dishwashing machines. If you find that your dishes are cold and clammy instead of hot and steamy when you remove them, your dishwasher might need a new heating coil.

Appliance Repair Littleton, CO

Dishwasher Isn't Draining: You'll know quickly if your dishwasher isn't draining properly because there will be a pool of water under your machine. If you're dealing with drainage problems, it could be due to a clogged drainage system or non-functioning pump.

Appliance Repair Littleton, CO

Leaky Dishwasher: As one of our most requested appliance repairer services, we help customers deal with leaky dishwashers all the time. This common problem can be caused by a damaged door gasket, leaky dishwasher tub, loose valve, or another issue.

Whether it's a faulty compressor or a blocked condenser fan, our team will diagnose the problem and get to work fixing your fridge.

Appliance Repair Littleton, CO

Spoiled Food: The whole point of putting your food in the refrigerator is so it doesn't spoil. So, if you notice your food spoiling prematurely, it's a good sign that you need appliance repair for your refrigerator. Because of the nature of these repairs, it's important to hire a licensed repair technician to find and correct the root cause of your problem.

Appliance Repair Littleton, CO

Water on Floor Underneath Fridge: If you spot standing water under your refrigerator, it's a big cause for concern. Not just for the health of your appliance, but for water leaking into your home. Usually, leaks are caused by trapped condensation due to clogged pipes or hoses. You'll need an experienced refrigerator repair tech to clear blockages and ultimately solve your leaking problem.

LITTLETON, Colo. — Copenhagen, Denmark is nearly 5,000 miles from Littleton, but the Danish city’s influence has made Molly McNally Dunn “realize how glad I am to be alive.”

McNally Dunn is a participant in the Littleton chapter of Cycling Without Age (CWA), a nonprofit that started 10 years ago in Denmark. Using a trishaw — a three-wheeled e-bike with a bench for two passengers in the front — Cycling Without Age’s volunteer cyclists, called pilots, can help elderly people and others who struggle with mobility experience the flowing freedom of a bike ride.

McNally Dunn explained that because of issues with her back, she can no longer ride a bike or go on long walks. “And so when I first started with the trishaw,” she explained, “I [couldn’t] believe — getting back in nature — what it did to my soul.”

We're sorry, but there was an error playing this video. Please try again later.

Cycling Without Age has 2,700 chapters in 52 countries. A full map is available here. In addition to Littleton, CWA’s chapters in Colorado include Boulder, Greeley, Lakewood, Lafayette, Englewood and Colorado Springs. Other cities and towns in Colorado, including Denver, are currently fundraising to purchase trishaws of their own.

Barb Lotze is the co-founder of Cycling Without Age’s Littleton chapter, which started in 2019 with two volunteer pilots. Using a trishaw from Copenhagen, Lotze and her team provided a dozen rides in their first year. But in 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down almost all indoor activity and many senior citizens, especially those living in nursing homes, felt isolated, Lotze and the pilots gave 350 rides.

The program’s demand has grown exponentially and now, CWA Littleton has nearly 50 pilots. Last year, they provided 1,120 rides in Littleton and so far this year, they’re already approaching 900 rides.

“Getting out on the trishaw, it’s a social event,” she explained.

Lotze said her organization has given bike rides as part of anniversaries and birthday parties, including one for a woman who turned 103 years old. (According to Cycling Without Age, the oldest person to receive a ride on a CWA trishaw was 110-year-old Pauline Angleman in California.)

The new 74,365ft2 facility has been designed by Intergroup Architects, and it will be constructed by Precision Contractors at 5779 S. Alkire St., at C-470 and Bowles Ave. To take advantage of such a high-visibility location, the building will feature a large, stepped version of Furniture Row's iconic angled red roof, attractive exterior design features on all four sides, and it will use 11,000ft2 of glass as large-scale windows, window walls, and even a clearstory beneath the upper roof. As Bob Hibbard of Precision Contractors put it during the ceremony, "When you look at this Furniture Row, you're going to see the big red roof from C-470 in either direction, and you're going to see an ongoing clearstory of glass which is going to let in a huge amount of light to welcome customers entering the store…I'd like to congratulate the folks at Intergroup Architects for another iconic design; we're going create another great customer experience here."

Furniture Row intends to have this new store become a treasured local business that adds to the value of the area. Tim Visser, the President of Furniture Row, spoke about the impact they hope to have in the surrounding area, saying, "Even though we're now in 28 other states, there's something special about breaking ground in our own backyard. We are Colorado natives through and through and we are heavily invested in our community here. With the influx of so many people from across the country to Colorado and the Denver metro area, it seems only appropriate that they should experience a local and family-owned furniture and mattress store helping them to make their house a home and create the world they love. We take that responsibility very seriously, and we want each and every visitor and community member to have the best shopping experience they've ever had."

'British Girls in Denver' met for tea to celebrate and discuss the complicated legacy of the queen

LITTLETON, Colo. — A group called ‘British Girls in Denver’ gathered Friday to sip tea and eat scones to celebrate the life of Queen Elizabeth II. They meet every other month and during special Royal family celebrations including the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The group, which is part of a larger organization called ‘Brits Living in Denver’ has about 900 members in Colorado.

“We just turned this into a celebration of the life of the Queen,” said founder Julie Reddington. “It’s been quite a shock, there hasn’t been a buildup of time for us to really to comprehend.”

One member of the group is Sylvia Lambe who is Black was born in the UK. She is a former BBC producer who now works with History Colorado, Denver's Black American West Museum and the Smithsonian. Her parents are from Ghana and Barbados—two former colonies that were part of the United Kingdom’s commonwealth. Lambe said she has mixed feelings about the queen.

'British Girls in Denver' member Sylvia Lambe said, "It's going to be a period of transition and a period of really understanding the country."

“Her position, her royal wealth has come at the expense of my forefathers,” Lambe said. “The Queen was the head of the commonwealth and the commonwealth was born out of the colonization of countries…the oppression of people.”

Lambe said even though the United Kingdom has a checkered past, she still has an affinity for her home country.

“It’s always there because no matter what, that is the reality,” Lambe said. “We have a great pride in our country like I think most people have great pride in their country.”

This group of British ex-pats in Denver get together regularly to talk about home. Friday’s tea turned into a celebration of life for the Queen and a discussion of her complicated legacy.

“It’s the end of an era, the end of the Elizabethan era,” Lambe said. “Today, it’s more about looking back on her life and what she meant to you and how she was part of your life.”

The group also watched the speech made by King Charles III. Reddington said the big question is what the new monarch will do next.

“He’s obviously waited a long time for this to happen,” Reddington said. “He’s got big shoes to fill but this is his time now and I think we will just all sit and watch what he has to say and see where he takes the country from here.”
