Kane Brown released his highly-anticipated duet with fellow country superstar Blake Shelton.

The star-studded collaboration arrived on Friday (Sept. 9) and we must say it was well worth the wait.

Co-written by Brown alongside Josh Hoge and Christian Davis, “Different Man” finds the country superstars singing how they are “made for the stage” and not for the typical 9-to-5 job.

Brown launches into the track singing the first verse and chorus and Shelton takes on the next verse and chorus before the pair join together to trade lyrics on the final verse and chorus.

“But what if I was made for the stage What if I was made for the lights What if I was chosen to write the stories Wasn’t built to work the line Oh, what if I was different / Would I wanna be different?” Brown sings on the track’s chorus.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Brown revealed where he was when he decided to ask Shelton to join him on the duet.

“I was driving to the gym — that’s where I really have time to think and listen,” Kane explained. “I wanted one more feature on the album, and Blake was the first person I thought of,” he continued. “The song just reminded me of the ‘God’s Country’ kind of Blake Shelton, so I felt like it made sense.”

While chatting with Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music, Brown admitted that he knew from the first listen of the track that he had to ask Shelton to join him.

“I feel like I’m a great A&R and so I was listening to the song over and over and over and trying to figure out, like, somebody can be on this song,” Brown shared. “And Blake was the first person that popped into my head. So I sent it to him and then within 30 minutes he texted me back and said he’s on it. So that was just a crossing my fingers, hoping he could find time to record it.”

Brown and Shelton have a history together as Brown often pays tribute to Shelton during his live concerts with an a cappella rendition of his chart-topping hit “Ole Red.” In 2020, Shelton even enlisted Brown as a mentor for Team Blake on NBC’s The Voice.

The tune serves as the title track to Brown’s just-released new album, Different Man. The 17-track project is sure to take his already red-hot career to new heights.

The album features his latest chart-topping singles “One Mississippi” and “Like I Love Country Music,” as well as “Thank God,” a duet with his wife, Katelyn, and a collaboration with fellow country superstar Blake Shelton. The album also includes previously released tracks “Grand,” “One Mississippi,” “Whiskey Sour,” and “Leave You Alone.”

“I’m most excited, when it comes to releasing this new project, for people to see how much I’ve grown as an artist,” Brown said of project.

Different Man follows Brown’s second studio album, 2018’s Experiment. In August of 2020, Brown released his ACM-nominated EP, Mixtape Vol. 1, which included several hit singles such as “Cool Again,” “Worldwide Beautiful” “Worship You” and his Top 40 radio single, “Be Like That” featuring Khalid and Swae Lee.

The country superstar will also embark on his massive international Drunk or Dreaming Tour later this month.

The trek will feature special guests Restless Road, Jessie James Decker, Blanco Brown and Chris Lane on select dates. Kicking off on September 17 in Melbourne, Australia, the tour will continue through Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, and Europe.

The international leg of the Drunk or Dreaming Tour marks Brown’s first time touring in Australia and New Zealand, and his long-awaited return to Canada and Europe.

In addition, Brown recently announced the U.S. leg of his Drunk or Dreaming Tour, which features support from Dustin Lynch, Gabby Barrett and LOCASH.

The U.S. leg of the tour will kick off in Grand Rapids, MI on March 16, 2023, and will visit 23 cities throughout the United States before wrapping up in Greenwood Village, CO at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

While embarking on the massive headlining trek, Brown will headline Bridgestone Arena in Nashville for the first time ever on March 31.

Brown will soon make an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! during two upcoming episodes, including September 13 and 14.
